Prospective Applicant FAQs

  How do I apply?

To apply, create a BusinessCAS account, search for Pepperdine University and then select the program(s) of interest.

  If I apply to more than one program, what documents do you need?

Prospective students can apply to more than one program. An application fee is required for each application submitted. The requirements vary by program. Please visit our website for a list of requirements by program.

If you applied to one of our programs within the past two years and submitted official transcripts and/or official test scores you do not need to resubmit those documents. However, if there is new or updated information that was not previously submitted,  an updated official transcript and/or official test score is required.

Prospective students are encouraged to speak with a recruitment advisor prior to submitting multiple applications.

  Where can I get information about scholarships?

We offer scholarships and alternative financial aid options to those who qualify.  Admitted students are automatically considered for merit scholarships. Scholarship amounts vary based on several factors such as GPA, test scores, and work experience.

  What are the application requirements?

Application requirements vary by program. Visit our website for a list of requirements by program.

  What are the application deadlines?

The application deadlines vary by program and term.  All application materials must be received by 8:59 PM PST on the deadline date. 

  Do I need to send transcripts?

We require an official transcript from all previously attended colleges to fulfill the application requirement. We accept electronic transcripts and paper transcripts from the institution's Registrar. To order an official transcript:

  1. Login to your BusinessCAS account
  2. Select your Application
  3. Click on Academic History
  4. Click on Colleges Attended
  5. Select Order 
  6. Select Option 1 Electronic Transcript (FASTEST PREFERRED OPTION)

If you are not able to request an electronic transcript, an official transcript from the Registrar can be mailed to:

Application BusinessCAS Questions

  Where can I access a copy of my submitted application?

You can access a copy of your submitted application in your Business CAS account. After you login, select Check Status in the top right hand corner to view or download a PDF copy of your submitted application.

  Can I get a copy of the documents I submitted for my application?

All documents, including transcripts and test scores, submitted to the Graziadio Business School Admission Office become the property of Pepperdine University. Documents will not be returned or duplicated for any purpose.

  How do I change my name and contact information on my application?

To make changes to your preferred name, mailing address, email address, or phone number can be made in WaveNet. After login, select Personal Info (left side icon) > edit information >and then save any changes.

  Where do I enter recommender information for my application?

Here are the steps to request a recommendation via BusinessCAS:   

  1. Login to your BusinessCAS account
  2. Select Program Materials
  3. Select the program
  4. Select the Recommendations tab at the top of the page
  5. Select Request a Recommendation
  6. Complete the section and your recommender(s) will be notified of your request.

Tip - You will need to assign a due date for the submission of the recommendation letter(s). We suggest giving recommenders 2-3 weeks to submit the recommendation, but the due date cannot exceed the application deadline.

 

Transcript Questions

  How do I submit transcripts?

We require an official transcript from all regionally accredited colleges previously attended. We accept electronic transcripts and paper transcripts scores from the institution's Registrar. To order an official transcript:

  1. Login to your BusinessCAS account
  2. Select Academic History
  3. Select Colleges Attended
  4. Select Order 
  5. Select Option 1 Electronic Transcript (FASTEST PREFERRED OPTION)

If you are not able to request an electronic transcript, an official transcript from the Registrar can be mailed to:

  How do I submit a transcript evaluation?

We require official transcript evaluations for all international schools previously attended. Transcript evaluations must be in English, show course-by-course equivalency, degree equivalency, include a cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale (A = 4.0) and verify accreditation.

To order an official transcript evaluation:

  1. Login to your BusinessCAS account
  2. Select your Application
  3. Click on Academic History
  4. Click on Colleges Attended
  5. Select Order for the Foreign Evaluation
  6. Select Option 1 Electronic ECE or WES (FASTEST PREFERRED OPTION)

If you are not able to request an electronic foreign evaluation, an official copy from a NACES approved evaluation service can be mailed to:

  Do you accept unofficial documents?
 No, we require an official transcript(s) and/or test score(s) to fulfill the application requirement.
  Do I need to provide an official transcript if I have courses in-progress?
 Yes, official transcripts with in-progress grades are accepted for application review purposes. Once all courses are completed, a final official transcript with all grades posted will be required prior to the first day of the term.
  I already submitted an official transcript but now you are requesting a degree transcript. What should I do?

While we can review your application with in-progress grades, in order to complete your file, we will need an official transcript with your degree posted. Please do not resend an in-progress transcript. Once your grades are posted, request an official transcript with degree posted/conferred from your Registrar.  All final official transcripts with degree posted/conferred are due by the start of the application term.

  My transfer credits are listed on my degree transcript. Do I need to request separate transcripts from each school?

Yes, you must provide official transcripts for all colleges and universities attended.

  I attended Pepperdine University. Do I need to provide an official Pepperdine transcript?

Yes, email OneStop at onestop@pepperdine.edu to request your official transcript be sent to the Graziadio Business School Admission Office at PGBS.Admission@pepperdine.edu.

  Do I need to provide a transcript for my study abroad program?

Yes, you must provide official transcripts for all colleges and universities attended, including study abroad programs.

  I am not an international applicant but I received my degree from a foreign institution, do I need to have my transcript evaluated?

Yes, if you attended an international institution you are required to submit a transcript evaluation. Transcript evaluations must be in English, show course-by-course equivalency, degree equivalency, include a cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale (A = 4.0) and verify accreditation.

  Do you require a transcript for college courses taken while I was in high school?

Yes, you must provide official transcripts for all colleges and universities attended.

  My college is closed. Do I need to provide an official transcript?

Yes, you must provide official transcripts for all colleges and universities attended. If your school no longer exists, you'll need to request your transcripts from the Department of Education in the state you attended school.

 

Test Score Questions

  How do I submit my GMAT/GRE test score?

Official score reports are accepted electronically directly from the test provider (preferred) or in a sealed envelope directly from the test provider.

Use the following codes for score reporting:
GMAT: 37B-BJ-91
GRE: 5996

  How do I submit an English proficiency test score?

Applicants who earned their undergraduate/graduate degree(s) in a language other than English must submit one of the following to fulfill the English proficiency requirement:

  1. Academic transcript from an accredited U.S. college/university, reflecting a grade of "C" or better in a college-level English Composition course. ESL and remedial English courses are not accepted.
  2. Submit official scores taken within the past two years from one of the following test providers:
  • TOEFL - use code 7485
  • IELTS 
    • For Electronic Copy: Release your test score to Pepperdine Graziadio Business School then email pgbs.admission@pepperdine.edu with your IELTS Test Report Form Number
    • For Hard Copy: Select Pepperdine University (Malibu)
  • PTE - code not required; select Pepperdine University

Note: For graduates from institutions in Australia, Canada (with the exception of the Province of Quebec), Ghana, India, the United Kingdom and the United States (including U.S. territories) the English language proficiency requirement will automatically be waived.

 

Application Status Questions

  Where do I go to get information on the status of my application?

Information about your application status and outstanding documents can be found in your WaveNet To-do List. If all application requirements are marked as complete then your application is ready for review.

  How long does it take to review my application?

It typically takes 3-4 weeks after we've received all required materials for a decision to be made on your application.

  I have not received my WaveNet ID, what should I do?

You should receive an email with the subject line "Pepperdine University – WaveNet User ID Creation." This email will contain important information about WaveNet, Pepperdine University's online community portal, and the login procedure.

Also, please check your email's "SPAM" folder, as the WaveNet login information will be sent from the address: donotreply@pepperdine.edu. Often, Spam filters will filter out this email.

  Can I get an extension on my intent to enroll and/or enrollment deposit?

Intent to Enroll Forms and enrollment deposits received after the deadline date will be accepted as long as spaces are available.

  I submitted my Intent to Enroll Form and/or enrollment deposit, how can I be sure you received it?

Your WaveNet To-do List has the most up-to-date information about the materials received and processed for your application. 

 

Scholarship and Benefits Questions

  How do I get scholarship information?

The Graziadio Business School offers scholarships and alternative financial aid options to those who qualify.  Admitted students are automatically considered for merit scholarships. Scholarship amounts vary and depend on numerous factors including but not limited to GPA, test scores, and work experience. Graziadio aid information is listed here.

Note: Executive (EMBA, PKE, DBA, and MSOD) and Online program students are not eligible for a merit scholarship but may be eligible for other aid. Please consult directly with your recruitment advisor.

  How would a Veteran get benefits information?

Many of Pepperdine University programs are approved for veteran benefits; however, because assignment and distribution of funds are determined by the federal Veterans Administration office rather than by the University, Pepperdine University cannot guarantee that a student will receive veteran benefits.  Therefore, veterans should contact the Office of the Registrar on the Malibu campus as early as possible to expedite handling of VA forms and counseling.

Veterans must be admitted to the University before receiving benefits. Admitted veterans are advised to consult the "Academic Policies" section of this Graziadio Business School catalog under "Information for Veterans".

 

Decision Related Questions

  I was admitted, how do I defer my admission?

An admitted student that has submitted an Intent to Enroll Form and paid the enrollment deposit may request via email to defer up to one-year from the admit term.

To request a deferral, the Intent to Enroll Form and the enrollment deposit must be paid for the original admit term. Upon approval, the Intent to Enroll Form and paid enrollment deposit will be applied to the deferred term.

The deferral request must be sent to PGBS.Admission@pepperdine.edu, received by the Intent to Enroll date listed on the admit letter, and include the student's full name and CWID #.

  How do I withdraw my application?

To withdraw an application prior to an admission decision, applicants must request in writing, via email to PGBS.Admission@pepperdine.edu. The email should contain the student's full name and CWID #.

If the applicant is interested in being considered for a future term and has not received an admission decision, a written request to change the application term is required. The email should be sent to PGBS.Admission@pepperdine.edu and include the student's full name and CWID #.

  How do I appeal a denial decision?
Denied students who wish to be reconsidered for the same program, in the same term, must submit a written request accompanied with new academic information. New academic information consists of updated test scores and/or updated course grades that were not available at the time of application review. The written request and new academic information must be emailed to PGBS.Admission@pepperdine.edu by the final application deadline for the same program in the same term. The email subject line should include the following: Appeal Request - Student Full Name - CWID #. Students will receive acknowledgement of the appeal request and be notified of the appeal decision within 14 business days of the acknowledgement date.
