Dr. Nelson Granados Comments on VR: Facebook's Oculus & AEG Presents

Dr. Nelson Granados, Associate Professor of Information Systems, Director of the Center for Applied Research and Co-Director of the Institute for Entertainment, Media, and Culture, recently shared an article on Forbes discussing Facebook’s Oculus reaching a Virtual Reality milestone with its recent launch of Oculus Venues - a live social events experience available for Oculus GO and Gear VR. In partnership with AEG Presents, the inaugural event was a Vance Joy concert on May 30th. Oculus Venues adds a new important social aspect to the VR experience, social-sharing mode, that allows viewers to virtually attend events with friends or connect with new people. Oculus Venues features a diverse lineup of social events including sports, movie screenings and comedy.
