Research in Progress

"Enhancing Returns in a Volatile Global Stock Market: A Time Limited Approach to Risk and Reward" (Writing Results),  International Journal of Global Business and Economics The recent shocks in the financial markets and declines of the stock  markets around the world have caused many traditional investors to question the wisdom of a Buy and Hold Strategy (BHS). While the BHS is an approach that many investment advisors promote, the authors believe that by investing in the Dow Jones Industrial  Average (DJIA) only during certain months of the year, risk exposure and reward can be superior to that of the (BHS). This paper empirically examines the DJIA using a seasonality approach. Seasonality is not unique to the DJIA; the literature review indicates that it exists in other stock markets around the world. This paper attempts to answer the question: Is there a significant difference between using the buy and hold strategy and a seasonality strategy? Other research questions involving different time-sensitive investment strategies are explored.

"International Cultural Dimensions of Project Management" (On-Going), Textbook Textbook to be used in teaching international business or project management. Additional teaching resources are being created such as a website with links to surveys, blogs, and forums. This book incorporates the business cultural aspects in the decision making process while covering the functional aspects of project management. This book will teach students and practitioners how to deal with a variety of cross-cultural situations that occur while conducting international management of projects. It will address the world's primary cultural responses to business situations.

"Providing Computers for Rural Education in Latin America: International Lessons Learned", Society of Educators and Scholars  9th Annual Conference Research continues in this area previously published. The published article presented the challenges
and considerations when attempting to take educational tools such as computers across borders in the quest to promote global education.

"Shifts in Senior Home Ownership: Will They Impact Economic Forecasting Models?" (On-Going), WEAI This paper attempts to bring attention to and provide a preview of what can be expected by the shift in the number/percentage of Senior households in the U.S. and other countries. It suggests that Senior driven by their experiences may have attitudes and behavior patterns on debt, spending, and savings that run contrary to those assumed in home ownership.
