Dean Stoecker, MBA '85
Dean Stoecker is the co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Alteryx, Inc. (NYSE: AYX) a leading company in the self-service data analytics space, with a platform that can discover and analyze data and share analytics at scale for deeper insights.
After receiving his MBA from the Graziadio School, Dean took a sales job at Donnelley Marketing Information Services in 1990, a data company where he met Olivia Duane Adams who along with Ned Harding, later co-founded Alteryx with him in 1997 when the data-science industry barely existed. Since its founding, Dean has led the company through exponential growth, with its stock reaching new highs on a daily basis. Dean cites his business and leadership skills as well as his unique ability to create, communicate and realize a vision, as the driving force behind Alteryx's 22+ years of continued success. Dean shares, "All the belief, courage and vision in the world still boils down to one thing… you, the human."
Dean serves as an advisor to entrepreneurs and is an active philanthropist, creating the Alteryx for Good program, which provides the benefits of data science and analytic capabilities to schools, universities and nonprofit organizations. Dean is passionate about humanizing the world of data science and analytics. In 2017, Dean was recognized as an Outstanding Public Company CEO by OCTANE and received the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award.
