Zeny Agullana serves as the Regional Vice President for State Government Relations for TIAA. Prior to coming to TIAA she was a Vice President at JPMorgan, where she worked as a government, healthcare, higher education, and nonprofit banker in California and Hawaii. She also served as the community relations manager for the Office of Nonprofit Engagement, working with local community leaders and nonprofit organizations whose primary focus was low-and moderate-income communities, communities of color and people with disabilities.
Zeny started her career in public service and spent 22 years working in different roles for the State of California serving in the California Legislature, Attorney General’s Office, and the State Treasurer’s Office. She was the Executive Director of the ScholarShare Investment Board, managing the state’s 529 college savings program.
Prior to her service to the Board, she served as the Special Assistant to the California Attorney General and as a field representative in the state legislature, where she was responsible for the creation of the Attorney General’s Task Force on Civil Rights and the California-Japan student exchange program. She led a team of historians and staff that completed “Keeping the Promise,” the first comprehensive written and audio-video history of the Attorney General’s Office since its founding in 1850.
She received her BA from Sacramento State University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
