National Survey Shows More U.S. Businesses Are Reporting Profits and Increased Hiring
GuruFocus.com reports on the latest Private Capital Access (PCA) Index research, conducted
by the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School with support from Dun & Bradstreet. The
survey findings are interpreted positively in the article, which extrapolates an optimistic
outlook for growth among businesses.
The Q3-2017 PCA Index survey revealed 63 percent of all businesses said they were
profitable, up from 56 percent in Q3 2016. Demand for financing was revealed to be
down among all size businesses. Dr. Craig R. Everett, Pepperdine Graziadio Assistant
Professor of Finance and Director of the Pepperdine Private Capital Markets Project,
sums up these findings as follows: "Slowing revenue growth is the cause for uncertainty,
but other business fundamentals are strong."
