Bernice Ledbetter Featured on Break Through YouTube Podcast

Lisa Gable, FARE Chief Executive Officer, invited Bernice Ledbetter on her YouTube podcast, Break Through, to discuss women empowerment and how to prioritize women in leadership roles. Ledbetter shares her expertise on how women can advance in their careers and leverage opportunities in the new world. “Women feel competent in leading, but women often lack the confidence in management. Confidence is built from within and manifests in action. We build confidence in the stories that we tell about ourselves. Leadership equality is built from within,” said Ledbetter during the interview.

Oftentimes, individuals are unsure how to become effective and successful leaders. For women interested in taking on a leadership role in their organization, Ledbetter suggests a reflective exercise. “Identify your core strengths and a moment when you displayed strong leadership.” By studying and analyzing a successful leadership moment you can identify what factors and conditions helped you perform your best as a leader and be at the top of your game.

Mentorships can provide an excellent second perspective and help an individual find their core strengths. Pepperdine Graziadio’s Center for Women in Leadership connects Graziadio students and alumni for mentorship opportunities and provides resources to help advance women in leadership.
