Cole Short Honored by the Strategic Management Society and the Journal of Management

Dr. Cole Short, Pepperdine Graziadio faculty member, was recognized by both the Strategic Management Society (SMS) and the Journal of Management for his work in scholarly fields. 

Short was given an Outstanding Reviewer Award by the Stakeholder Strategy Division with SMS ahead of this year’s annual conference. The SMS annual conference is the premiere, internationally-recognized conference in the field of strategic management. The Outstanding Reviewer Awards at SMS recognize a small group of scholars who have offered exceptional insight and developmental advice in their reviews The leadership teams of each interest group, which typically include prominent scholars and editors at field-leading journals, evaluate all conference reviews to determine who receives this recognition. Short was also recognized by the Journal of Management as a finalist for their Scholarly Impact Award. Short was honored along with his co-authors Jonathan Bundy (Arizona State University), Michael Pfarrer (University of Georgia), and Timothy Coombs (Texas A&M University) for their academic article Crises and Crisis Management: Integration, Interpretation, and Research Development. Their research identifies two primary perspectives in literature, one focused on the internal dynamics of a crisis and one focused on managing external stakeholders. You can read the full article.
