Pepperdine's 2023 'Most Fundable Company' Making Space and NBC Sports Launch Free Training Course to Empower Disabled Talent in Sports Broadcasting

NBC Sports and Making Space, a 2023 Pepperdine ‘Most Fundable Company’, have announced a groundbreaking collaboration aimed at fostering diversity and inclusion within sports media.

The two entities have unveiled a free on-demand training course designed to cultivate a robust pipeline of Disabled talent aspiring to become sports commentators. Building upon their prior partnership, the initiative underscores a shared commitment to increasing the representation of Disabled individuals in sports broadcasting, paving the way for opportunities in hosting, analysis, and play-by-play commentary roles.

Led by Making Space's Chief Marketing Officer, Sophie Morgan, the comprehensive curriculum covers various aspects of sports television commenting, from foundational knowledge on Disability models to practical skills such as interviewing techniques and scriptwriting. Upon completion of the course, participants will have the chance to showcase their talents and potentially secure hosting opportunities with NBC Sports, further enhancing diversity within the broadcasting industry.

This collaborative effort underscores NBC Sports and Making Space's dedication to fostering visibility, representation, and employment opportunities for Disabled talent, ultimately creating a more inclusive and diverse sports media landscape.
