Pepperdine Graziadio Professor Cristina Gibson Named Among the World's Top 2% of Scientists
Cristina Gibson, PhD, Dean’s Distinguished Professor of Management was recognized
as one of the world's most-cited researchers and among the World's Top 2% of Scientists
in a recent global research paper. The Stanford University study, “Updated science-wide
author databases of standardized citation indicators”, analyzed data from 1996 through
2019, covering more 7 million scientists in 22 major fields ranging from chemistry,
physics, to biology, engineering, and business. Among the 36,0000 researchers within
the sub-area of “Business and Management,” Gibson ranked within the top .5% and among
the top 30 women in this field in the world. The database was created to provide updated
analyses and a publicly available database of top Scientists that provides standardized
information on citations, h-index (an index to measure an individual’s scientific
research output), co-authorship-adjusted h-index, citations to papers in different
authorship positions, and a composite indicator.
