Lene Martin Shares Opinion on Cryptocurrency l Spectrum News Channel 1

AEG announced the renaming of the downtown Los Angeles arena to Crypto.com Arena. The agreement now makes Crypto.com the official cryptocurrency platform partner for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings. The new naming agreement comes at a time when cryptocurrency is making great strides and dominated the news at the end of 2021. Lene Martin, director of Pepperdine University’s Blockchain Department, shares her expertise and thoughts on where cryptocurrency is heading with Spectrum News. “Blockchain will allow financial institutions to decentral their transactions. ‘De-fi’ or decentralizing financing will pick up in 2022,” said Martin. Traditional banking companies have started to dabble into cryptocurrencies, which will increase acceptance among a wider audience. Martin predicts non-fungible tokens, NFTs, data that are unique and owned by an individual, will also see an increase in 2022 as NFTs become more popular for everyday transactions.
