John Mooney Publishes Research Featuring Toyota Motor Corporation in MIT Sloan's Center For Information Systems Research
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) is one of the world top-selling car manufacturers, but their success doesnt stop their drive for further innovation. Pepperdine Graziadio Business School faculty John Mooney, along with co-authors Nick van der Meulen, a research scientist at MIT Sloan, and Cynthia M. Beath, professor emerita at the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business, developed an in-depth case study about TMC approach to an IT management issue through Toyota Connected. In response to changing consumer expectations, technological developments, and new kinds of entrants into the automotive industry, TMC tasked Toyota Connected to lead the development of Toyota cloud-based digital Connected Mobility Intelligence Platform. The case study details what it took to empower the relatively small Toyota Connected and how the entity collaborated with TMC Connected Technologies to design and scale new digital offerings and new ways of working for TMC in a global capacity.
