In her Huffington Post article "Is Women's Leadership Talent Hiding in Plain Sight?" Dr Bernice Ledbetter asserts that hiring managers often choose to promote people who look or act like their organization's current leadership, which keeps women and minorities from advancing in the workplace. She says, "Determining who has leadership potential is often based on an image of those at the top of the organization, who are mainly white and male.
