Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Olympics, making it the only city in the United States to host the Olympics three times. As the City of Los Angeles moves forward with planning and investing in needed infrastructure, no one seems to be asking a very important question. Who will work the Olympics? The Olympics in Rio Janeiro employed about 40,000 staff and contractors and also had thousands of volunteers to assist with the multi week event.

The San Fernando Valley is home to nearly half of Los Angeles’s population and will gain the Valley Sports Park, bringing the Olympics to the Valley for the first time. Currently, the United States is experiencing the lowest unemployment rate in more than a decade. In Los Angeles, the unemployment rate hovers near 4 percent. It is unlikely the record low unemployment will endure for another 8 years.
