Bernice Ledbetter Authors Article on Leadership Training to Help Women in Times of Change and Will Participate in Los Angeles Business Journal Women's Leadership Panel
People all over may be asking themselves, ‘what does it really mean to be a leader in 2020?’ With the world changing in response to COVID-19, leaders must develop new skill sets and establish new corporate cultures to succeed post-COVID. On October 7th from 2 - 4 PM, the Los Angeles Business Journal will be featuring a Women’s Leadership panel with inspiring successful leaders who have made significant changes to the business world. Dr. Bernice Ledbetter, Dean of Students and Alumni Relations at Pepperdine Graziadio, is one of the change agents participating as a panelist and will share challenges she faced, the successes gained, and the big-picture results that have come from her years of experience.
Dr. Ledbetter’s Los Angeles Business Journal article, Leadership Training Can Help Women in Times of Change, highlights how even today women still only earn 79 cents to every dollar a man earns. Due to the downturn caused by the pandemic, a large share of women (compared to men) lost their jobs from February 2020 to May 2020. As we prepare for the post-COVID economy, it will be vital for organizations and business leaders to support women and women of color. "Smart leaders of the future will understand the synergistic connection between the need to adapt quickly to change and the simultaneous need to create a diverse and inclusive organizational culture," Dr. Ledbetter said.
