Alumna Danielle Outlaw Appointed as the Police Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia


On December 30, the City of Philadelphia's Mayor Jim Kenney appointed Danielle Outlaw as the new police commissioner. Outlaw, formerly the first Black female police chief of Portland, Oregon is Philly’s first Black female police commissioner. Outlaw earned her MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School in 2012 and embodies the Graziadio values of being a Best for the World Leader.

Prior to becoming the police chief of Portland, Outlaw worked in the Oakland California Police Department as a deputy chief, internal affairs captain, watch commander, inspector general official, community services liaison, and patrol officer. Outlaw has publicly emphasized the importance of rebuilding the relationship between Philadelphia police and the residents they serve.
