According to Dr. Nelson Granados, associate professor of information systems, director of the center for applied research and co-director of the Institute for Entertainment, Media, and Culture, cheating is becoming a widespread issue within the online gaming community. In a new study by cybersecurity firm, Irdeto, it finds that 37% of gamers confessed to cheating and 9 out of 10 players have had a negative experience because of those cheaters. Dr. Granados contends that the best ways of prevention should come from the supply side making it more technically difficult for cheaters to succeed.
