“The Pepperdine Center for Women in Leadership focuses on building women’s confidence and instilling a strong sense of competency and readiness for the challenges and rewards of leadership,” said Dr. Bernice Ledbetter, director of the Center for Women in Leadership. “We hope that by broadening the global dialogue on gender and diversity-related issues, we will strengthen the leadership capacity of women and close the gender gap.”

Through mentorship programs, industry engagement, and research on gender diversity, the Center for Women in Leadership is one of the few comprehensive centers that exists solely to serve women. Women students, faculty, and staff at Pepperdine can take advantage of the CWL’s mentoring program, networking opportunities, and skills development initiatives such as industry roundtable sessions. Women inside or outside Pepperdine can serve as a mentor or participate in the mentorship program, provide an introduction to women who might be interested in the center, host an industry roundtable, or recommend women to the CWL Advisory Board. More information on ways to get involved with the Center for Women in Leadership is available here.

The Women in Leadership in Higher Education conference is designed for all women, particularly faculty, staff, and students who aspire to higher levels of influence and professional development. Participants will learn from top women leaders in the field of higher education and receive encouragement, direction, support, and education related to advancing careers, personal influence, professionalism, discernment of vocational calling, and leadership gravitas.
