Building Solutions for the Future: How Gene Eidelman (MBA '19, PKE 142) and Azure Printed Homes Are Redefining Sustainable Construction

Gene Eidelman Azure

When Graziadio alumnus Gene Eidelman (MBA '19, PKE 142) co-founded Azure Printed Homes, his goal wasn’t just to build structures; it was to build solutions. Drawing on decades of entrepreneurial experience and a lifelong commitment to innovation, Eidelman is pioneering a new era in construction by using 3D printing technology and recycled materials to create homes that are stronger, faster to build, and better for the planet.

An Entrepreneurial Journey Rooted in Resilience

Eidelman’s story begins long before Azure. Born in Ukraine, he immigrated to the United States as a teenager, an experience that instilled in him a deep sense of resilience and drive. Over the years, he built several successful companies across industries, learning how innovation and persistence can turn ideas into meaningful impact.

His defining moment came while pursuing his Presidents and Key Executives (PKE) MBA at Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. During his time in the program, the Woolsey Fire devastated Malibu, displacing many residents, including classmates and community members. Witnessing the long, difficult rebuilding process, Eidelman began to envision how technology could transform the way homes are constructed, making them faster to rebuild, more sustainable, and more resilient. That vision became the foundation for Azure Printed Homes.

Reimagining Homebuilding with 3D Printing

Azure Printed Homes represents a revolutionary shift in construction. The company uses recycled polymers and large-scale 3D printing to produce modular homes and structures that significantly reduce waste and shorten build times. The mission is clear: make housing more attainable and environmentally responsible while advancing recovery and adaptation in the face of climate change.

Eidelman acknowledges that breaking into a traditional industry with a new approach required persistence and proof. Demonstrating Azure’s technology through tangible, livable spaces helped the company earn credibility and attract partnerships that are now fueling its expansion.

Recognition and Impact

Eidelman’s leadership and innovation recently earned Azure Printed Homes recognition as one of Pepperdine’s Most Fundable Companies of 2025, an honor that underscores the company’s viability and growth potential. The rigorous competition challenged Azure to refine its business strategy, strengthen investor readiness, and communicate its impact more effectively.

Being named among the Most Fundable Companies, Eidelman says, “validated that what we’re building isn’t just innovative, it’s investable and impactful.” With expanding production capacity and growing global partnerships, Azure is poised to bring its sustainable housing solutions to communities worldwide, particularly those affected by wildfires, hurricanes, and housing shortages.

Purpose-Driven Leadership: Lessons from Pepperdine

For Eidelman, the PKE MBA program at Pepperdine was a turning point. Designed for senior executives and entrepreneurs, the program helped him refine his leadership style and think beyond profitability toward long-term purpose and legacy.

“The PKE MBA taught me to lead with resilience and intention,” he reflected.

Advice for Future Entrepreneurs

Eidelman encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to “run toward big problems.” He believes that today’s greatest challenges, from sustainability to housing shortages, offer opportunities for innovation and leadership. His advice to students:

“Build your network, be relentless in execution, and let your values guide you when decisions get tough. Resilience is everything—your setbacks will shape you as much as your successes.”
