The Taos Institute Recognizes Dr. Gary Mangiofico as the 2018 Honorary Associate


The Taos Institute recently recognized Dr. Gary Mangiofico, executive professor of organizational theory and management and academic director of the MS in Organization Development program, as 2018 Honorary Associate for his notable contributions to the field that have inspired and advanced the institutes’ overall mission.
The Taos institute is an international network of scholars and practitioners dedicated to the exploration of social constructs, emphasizing the integration of social theory and language into the professional space. Honorary Associates are selected based on an individual’s significant, stimulating and inspirational work that has played a important role in the institute’s dialogues, practices and ideals.
Dr. Gary Mangiofico has taught at the Graziadio School since 2003, is an award-winning scholar, and is recognized as an iconic thought leader in the field of organization development. Dr. Mangiofico was honored in 2012 by the World HRD & Development Congress at the Global HR/OD Excellence Awards in addition to receiving numerous local, state, and federal leadership awards, such as the United States Congress “Special Congressional Commendation” for “Outstanding Leadership.” Dr. Mangiofico also serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Organization Development Network. Dr. Mangiofico brings more than 20 years of experience in organization development, leading strategic development, operations management and integration, and turnaround operations solving complex challenges as a Consultant, CEO, COO, and as a general management executive for both start-ups and Fortune 50 companies. He is a former vice president for Johnson & Johnson Health Care Services, COO and senior vice president for Pathmakers, and senior vice president for Apria Healthcare Group. Mangiofico holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Chapman University in Orange, California, and a PhD in organizational psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.
