Pepperdine Alumni-Led Legal Tech Company ECFX Expands Partnership with Graziadio through E2B Collaborations

ECFX, co-founded in January 2019 by Pepperdine alumni Dan O'Day (JD/MBA '93) and Nelson Quintero (JD '92), continues to strengthen its connection to the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School through ongoing Pepperdine E2BTM collaborations.

Originally introduced to the Graziadio community as a 2020 Most Fundable Companies (MFC) winner, ECFX has evolved from a promising startup into a thriving legal technology firm with 28 employees. The company addresses one of the legal industry’s biggest challenges, the overwhelming volume of electronic court filing (ECF) notices, through its flagship product, ECFX Notice, an enterprise ECF notice management system that automates manual processing within seconds, dramatically improving efficiency and reducing risk.

ECFX's partnership with Pepperdine began in Summer 2021, when students in the Part-Time MBA Online Marketing Management course led by Dr. Steve Rapier developed a three-year marketing plan to help the company expand its reach within law firms. Building on that success, ECFX was recently selected as a client for Dr. Jennifer Franczak's Full-Time MBA Designing and Leading Organizations for Sustainable Effectiveness course in Spring 2026, where students will assess the company’s corporate culture using the OCAI framework to strengthen employee connection and engagement.

From an award-winning startup to an engaged E2B partner, ECFX exemplifies how Pepperdine's E2B and Most Fundable Companies foster lasting relationships that drive innovation, growth, and purpose-driven leadership among alumni-founded ventures.
