Pepperdine Graziadio MSRE Alumni Mixer Connects Real Estate Community in Burbank

MSRE Students

Recently, the Pepperdine Real Estate Association (PREA) hosted its second Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) alumni mixer in Burbank, California. Against the backdrop of the Los Angeles skyline, alumni, current students, and faculty gathered for an evening of reconnection, celebration, and networking.

Now celebrating its eighth graduating cohort, the MSRE program continues to foster a strong, close-knit community of real estate professionals. The event was held at Talaria, a premier mixed-use property generously offered as the venue by Dr. Michael Cusumano, MSRE faculty member and real estate leader. Faculty members Heather Boren, Dr. Donn Kim, and Lexi Moriarty were also in attendance, showing their continued support for the program and its alumni.

Guests enjoyed delicious food, shared professional updates, and participated in a raffle for exclusive PREA merchandise. The event served as a vibrant touchpoint for alumni to reflect on their journeys and offer guidance to current students.

Nicki DiMatteo (MSRE ’24) of LMF Commercial shared, “The alumni mixer event was great! It is always good to catch up with professors and have the opportunity to talk with current students. It’s exciting to hear about their experiences in the program and have the opportunity to talk about where I am post-graduation.”

Toren Arusi (MSRE ’22), Director of Investments at American Healthcare REIT, echoed the sentiment: “Attending the Pepperdine MSRE alumni mixer was a fantastic experience. It was a pleasure reconnecting with fellow alumni and learning about the experiences of the current cohort. I’m truly impressed by how much the program has evolved since my graduation in 2022, and I look forward to seeing its continued growth—both academically and within the real estate industry.”

Andre Acosta (MSRE ’25), PREA Vice President, captured the spirit of the event: “Moments like this really highlight what makes the MSRE program special. The cohort size makes it easy to build strong connections, and this event was another example of the program’s quality and the industry expertise supporting it.”
