Heather Boren Speaks at VCCAR Real Estate Summit on the Importance of Creativity and Continuous Education for Agents and Brokers
The Ventura County Coastal Association of REALTORS® (VCCAR) Real Estate Summit, held at the Ventura Beach Marriott, provided a wealth of insights for real estate professionals navigating today’s challenging market. "Unlock Your Value," moderated by Edward Barrios of Vista Sotheby’s International Realty, featured an expert panel including commercial real estate broker and Pepperdine Graziadio faculty member Heather Boren.
During the panel discussion, Boren emphasized the importance of creativity and continuous education for agents and brokers. "In the current market, it's crucial for professionals to think outside the box and continually enhance their knowledge base," Boren stated. Highlighting the significance of real estate finance, she discussed the Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) program at Pepperdine Graziadio, which is designed to equip agents with the financial acumen necessary for working with investor clients.
Boren also shared innovative strategies for fostering client relationships and encouraged agents to invest in their own financial growth. "When markets are down, it presents an ideal time to seek out value properties and opportunities," she advised.
The session provided attendees with a comprehensive toolkit to demonstrate their value as REALTORS® effectively. Key takeaways included mastering communication techniques, leveraging market trends, building client trust, showcasing negotiation skills, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Panelists Elias Astuto, director of sales & coaching at FAST Real Estate, and Jamie Bedner, chief operating officer at Wedgewood, also contributed valuable insights, reinforcing the session's objective to help real estate professionals stand out in a competitive market.
