Pepperdine Graziadio Alumnus Scott Aubin (MBA ’00) Nominated for CFO of the Year

Scott Aubin, chief financial officer of USA Water Polo, headquartered in Irvine, was named a nominee for CFO of the year for nonprofits in the Orange County Business Journal. Upon joining USA Water Polo, Aubin continued the automation of the accounting and finance function, shortening the time to process payments to vendors by 50 percent. He has worked with insurance brokers to reduce insurance costs by almost 30 percent over the past two years, and also led the conversion to a new payroll processor, the second change in the past three years. In addition, Aubin completed a complex 2024 budgeting process for the upcoming Olympic year, updated all accounting policies and procedures for the organization, and worked with a third party to finalize submission for employee retention credits that will provide an additional 5 percent in funding to the organization.

Reflecting on his educational experience at Graziadio, Aubin says, “The MBA program at the Graziadio Business School helped prepare me for the career growth I have had since graduating. The classes I took in the MBA program were incredibly beneficial in developing my leadership skills.”
