Pepperdine Graziadio Cancels Spring PGBS-sponsored International Travel and Study Abroad Trips

Given the global outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published guidance for higher education institutions that recommend postponing or canceling upcoming study abroad and foreign exchange programs. As a precaution, Pepperdine University has canceled spring study abroad programs and university-sponsored spring break trips.

Dean Deryck J van Rensburg made the announcement in a campus-wide email today and stated "the safety and health of all our students, faculty, and staff is the primary concern." While there have been no cases of the coronavirus at Pepperdine University, we want to ensure you are updated on our planning efforts.

Domestic study trips at this point remain unaffected and efforts are already underway to facilitate timely program completion through alternative arrangements (e.g., domestic trips, additional coursework, directed study, etc.). Details on these arrangements will be communicated in due time by the program offices.
