Graziadio School of Business and Management Opens Silicon Valley Campus

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management has announced the opening of a new Bay Area campus, located in the Silicon Valley. The new graduate campus, located at 1735 Technology Drive, #125 in San Jose, will offer an Executive MBA(EMBA) program to students from across the Bay Area and greater Northern California.

“Our Bay Area faculty, comprised of academics, researchers, executives, consultants and entrepreneurs, have a deep appreciation for the type of management skills that local executives need for upward career trajectory”

“The new Northern California campus will continue our tradition of business education centered in experience-driven learning and integrated skills development, under the tutelage of our world-class faculty,” said David M. Smith, Interim Dean, Graziadio School of Business and Management. “In today’s competitive workplace, our EMBA program provides graduates with the tools for career mobility or to transition to entrepreneurial endeavors, both viable options in the Bay Area job market.”

The Graziadio School’s unique EMBA program incorporates a real life “case study” into an applied strategic plan — often the students’ own companies — under which a student assesses the current state of the company and develops a strategic plan for capitalizing on the company’s strengths and addressing its challenges. The Graziadio Executive MBA program has been offered in the Bay Area for nearly 20 years, starting in 1995.

“Our Bay Area faculty, comprised of academics, researchers, executives, consultants and entrepreneurs, have a deep appreciation for the type of management skills that local executives need for upward career trajectory,” said Dr. Smith. “The innovative curriculum of our EMBA program is ideally aligned with the creative, entrepreneurial, and risk-oriented culture of the Silicon Valley and the Bay Area.”

Ranked 23rd in the world by Bloomberg Businessweek, Pepperdine’s Executive MBA program delivers a full MBA experience in 19 months, through classes that meet approximately every three weeks. The EMBA is offered at the new Bay Area graduate campus and in Southern California EMBA classes are held at Pepperdine graduate campuses in West Los Angeles, Irvine, and Malibu. In 2014, Pepperdine University was ranked #9 on Forbes Magazine’s list of America’s Top 50 Most Entrepreneurial Universities.

Applications are now being accepted for the Executive MBA program at the San Jose campus for the Spring Term. The deadline for regular acceptance applicants is December 15, 2014 and wait list applicants should file no later than January 12, 2015. Classes for Spring Term begin January 28-31, 2015.
