Encouraging Women to Tell Their Stories in Honor of International Women's Day

Women are often told to be humble, never to brag. But it's time for women to speak up! Be encouraged to tell the story of your fellow women peers and support women in leadership. International Women's Day may only be once a year, yet there are ways that women can be celebrated all year-round. On March 8, 2022, the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School held its annual International Women's Day virtual mini-conference. The event was hosted by Dr. Bernice Ledbetter, Director of Pepperdine Graziadio's Center for Women in Leadership, and Julie Awopetu, Pepperdine Graziadio Full-Time MBA student. "Leaders are also teachers through advancing knowledge and awareness," Dr. Ledbetter stated as Brandi Harleuax explained how leadership, sustainability, and community intersect. The event featured several women business leaders who spoke on community building, job creation, innovation on purpose, and sustainability within the community.
