Elizabeth Adams Secures Prestigious Visiting Scholar Appointment at Umeå University to Advance Responsible AI Research

Elizabeth Adams, a postdoctoral scholar at Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, has been appointed as a visiting scholar at Umeå University in Sweden, where she will work with the renowned AI Policy Lab under the leadership of Dr. Virginia Dignum, a global pioneer in Responsible AI.

From May 5 through June 14, Adams will engage in a robust knowledge exchange initiative focused on Responsible AI, employee stakeholder participation, and AI policy development. Her work will include leading workshops, interactive sessions, and the development of a joint syllabus for a new course, Leading Responsible AI.

Throughout the appointment, Adams will collaborate closely with faculty and researchers through presentations, discussions, and joint seminars. The final week of her visit will focus on synthesizing insights, fostering future collaborations, and connecting with local organizations to explore real-world perspectives on Responsible AI adoption.

Adams views the appointment as a significant step in her postdoctoral journey, offering a powerful platform to deepen her research and strengthen global academic partnerships. Upon her return, she looks forward to sharing key learnings with the Pepperdine community to further enrich its leadership in ethical AI practices.
