Bobbi Thomason Quoted on Menopause at Work in Business Insider


Menopause symptoms, including hot flashes and anxiety, can wreak havoc on a woman's life and career. Research shows that 40% of women say menopause symptoms have interfered with their work performance. Bobbi Thomason, assistant professor of applied behavioral science at the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School was recently quoted in Business Insider on ways employers can help female employees deal with menopause and gender intersection in the workplace. Thompson says placing the responsibility solely on the woman to speak about her symptoms removes support from the organization. With sexism partly to blame, it is easy for employers to overlook the situation mainly women deal with as they get older.
