Dr. Ledbetter's HuffPost on Equal Pay


Bernice Ledbetter, Practitioner Faculty of Organizational Theory and Management at the Pepperdine Graziadio School, recently blogged on the Huffington Post about the importance of equal pay for women. California is poised to have the strongest equal pay law in the country and Dr. Ledbetter commends the bipartisan legislation that leaders in California have passed to close the pay gap and ensure that women receive "equal pay for equal work". Dr. Ledbetter says “real change starts with public policies like SB 358, but in order for it to be meaningful change there needs to be a culture shift. Attitudes need to change - women should not have to take a back seat when it comes to pay or be afraid of speaking up about pay differences. And employers must commit to embracing this new way of thinking and doing business. I'm confident that we can close the gap on gender wage inequality. In order to do that though, we need the support of men and women and Republicans and Democrats alike. This is not a gender issue or partisan issue this is a moral, human rights issue.”  Read more here.
