Power Play Or Risky Move? Yahoo Could Make Verizon A Global Mobile Media Heavyweight


Dr. Nelson Granados, Associate Professor of Information Systems Technology Management, writes about Verizon’s announcement that it is acquiring Yahoo for $4.83 billion in cash saying the deal is “part of Verizon’s  bold digital strategy to leverage its wireless and fiber networks by acquiring content assets and monetizing them through advertising.” Dr. Granados says the deal is a bold move to create a challenger to Google and Facebook for digital advertising revenues.
