About the Competition
Founded by the Malibu Graduate Business Society, the student government association for the Graziadio School’s Full-time MBA program in association with the Entrepreneur Club, the competition provides a forum for entrepreneurial ideas and ventures to be realized with the support and resources of the entire Pepperdine community. The annual event aims to bring together students from all of Pepperdine's college and graduate facilities. Students compete for a cash prize to finance the start-up of their venture.
How it Works
Teams submit a one- to two-page new business proposal to be considered for the competition. Once accepted, teams then submit a full business plan for review. Ten semi-finalists advance to the Semi-Final Fast Pitch round, from which four are selected to go on to the finals. Business plans are judged by a panel of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and faculty members.
The final round of judging takes place on March 8, 2008. The four finalist teams present their business plans before an audience of their peers. The plans are evaluated on the basis of the originality of the idea, viability of the business model, and the potential for future financial success. The winning team will receive a cash prize and the possibility of venture financing.
