LAUNCH! Magazine

LAUNCH! is a mini e-zine PDF you can download and share. Visit our companion website at launchmag.co.

LAUNCH! celebrates entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship at Pepperdine’s Graziadio School. Each issue brings you face-to-face with students and graduates on a personal journey to succeed at business ownership. In many instances their startup ventures are a direct result of the regiment of Pepperdine M.B.A. entrepreneurship courses they took. For good measure, the PDF entrepreneur-zine sources business community advice and expert perspective to ignite your own do-it-yourself start-up passions.

WHAT’S BEHIND LAUNCH!

Entrepreneurship is critical to the development and well-being of society. Entrepreneurs create jobs. They drive and shape innovation, speeding up structural changes in the economy.

Net job growth in the U.S. for the last three decades has been driven almost exclusively by new startup firms. Three million jobs on average are added to the economy each year by firms in their first year of operation, while older companies lose one million jobs annually (Kauffman Foundation).

In level of entrepreneurial activity, Southern California places sixth among the fifteen largest metropolitan regions in the U.S. The Graziadio School of Business and Management aims to improve that standing.

As Dean Linda Livingstone has said, “Our approach seeks to simulate the economy by providing students and alumni with a foundation for new business creation that will result in ventures (1) with a greater chance of survival well beyond their first years, (2) that become profitable earlier in their life-cycle and (3) that create new jobs.”
