MBA Q&A with Wieden+Kennedy’s John Jay

John Jay rose through the ranks to become the director of marketing at Bloomingdales to his current position as partner and global creative director at creative powerhouse and Advertising Age’s Agency of the Year Wieden+Kennedy. John is a member of the prestigious Art Directors Club Hall of Fame and was named to Fast Company’s Top 100 Most Creative People in Business.

I’ve been fortunate to meet John and hear him speak multiple times as a fellow graduate from The Ohio State University, as well as both being members of The National Retail Federation’s Retail Advertising & Marketing Association.

The more I hear him speak, the more of a professional hero he becomes to me. Like me, he is a son of Asian immigrants, who feels the need to go above and beyond to avoid getting lost in the shuffle. He serves as personal inspiration that someone from little old Columbus, Ohio can rise to do amazing things through hard work and determination.
