2 Chances to Win Blogging

Contribute to the Graziadio Voice during 2011-2012 academic year and you could win a $25 gift card or an Apple iPad.

To be considered:

  • You must be a current student or graduate of the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University
  • Submissions must be original and exclusive to the Graziadio Voice. While you may submit articles/posts published elsewhere, only works not published on other blogs and website will count toward contests.
  • Participation must comply with the terms for individual drawings (see below).

Win An Apple iPad Drawing – Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Terms

  • Contribute and have published at least 12 articles/posts between August 1, 2011 and January 13, 2012 and/or between January 16, 2012 and May 18, 2012*
  • A student or alumnus/alumnae is only eligible to win once
  • At least one post must answer: “I Wish I Knew Before I Started My Degree…” and offer reflective, actionable and positive advice to the new student (written or video)

Monthly Blogging $25 Gift Card Drawing – Be entered in a drawing for one of two gift cards awarded monthly

  • Student or graduate must have at least two posts published to win
  • Only eligible to win gift card once per trimester
  • Winners still eligible for Apple iPad drawing
Graziadio Voice is an online group blog for students to share business school experiences, further their personal brand, and/or discuss a business interest professionally and safely with classmates, alumni and readers considering a Pepperdine business degree.

The Terms

Contributions must be:

  • At least 250 words in length
  • Not offensive, overtly political or derogatory toward others; rather business-focused, well-reasoned and objective
  • Demonstrate, as appropriate, personal relevance (what does the topic mean to the author personally or why the topic might be meaningful to others, in a business school context)
  • Video, audio recordings and photo essays with captions may be substituted for written essays.

Award Considerations

  • Quality of writing and inventiveness as determined by Graziadio Voice staff
  • Timeliness, consistence and frequency of contributions
  • Number of contributions BEYOND the minimum
  • Number of cumulative “Likes” and “Tweets”

Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled in a Graziadio School program during academic year 2011-2012. Students who graduate in December 2011 or April 2012 and continue to blog remain eligible.*
  • Must have graduated with a Graziadio School degree from any program or year
  • Must have contributed and had published required minimum number of posts anytime before BEFORE the deadline for the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 terms.**
  • Submissions must comply with the School’s blogging guidelines

Getting Started

  1. Submit blog posts online in Microsoft Word or as an HTML file
  2. First-time contributors: Attach a close, head-and-shoulder photo (jpeg) with your first post
  3. First-time contributors: Include one or two sentences about yourself, study location/country, area of study, career objectives and/or any interesting professional fact you wish your readers to know.

*Note that the award of an iPad is considered a gift and therefore taxable income

**Participants must take into consideration the possible delay in publishing due to time constraints and volume of submissions. Publication is at the discretion of Graziadio Voice.
