What is Graziadio Voice?
Graziadio Voice is a school-managed group blog authored by students, and an occasional alumnus. It is a forum where regular or guest posters can articulate their passions, showcase business expertise and share experiences as shaped by their studies while attending Pepperdine.
The blog is an opportunity for students to dialog with other students, but also reach those people thinking of earning a Pepperdine degree, as well as share with alumni who current students are and what they are thinking and doing.
Graziadio Voice is also a venue for students to advance their business communications skills, dabble in social media, and build a portfolio of critical writing. Here is where students can practice their persuasive writing, demonstrate critical thinking, and increase their career capital.
Can anyone blog on Graziadio Voice?
Graziadio Voice is open to students enrolled in any Graziadio School business program. On a case-by-case basis, recent graduates and other alumni may contribute.
What can I write about?
Content must meet the ethics standards set by the University and blog guidelines, as well as the goals of the Graziadio School.
Authors are encouraged to either 1) write about personal and professional challenges as students and/or business professionals, or 2) demonstrate business expertise in an industry specialty or passionate interest. The goal of writers should be to always offer readers information they may use or apply in life, learning or business practice.
Posts are expected to be non-partisan, reasonably objective, and demonstrate good judgment.
Review the blog guidelines and best practices. Upload your blog post as a Word document and attached any images using the submission form.
How often do I have to blog?
If you sign-up to blog regularly as a featured blogger, you are expected to post twice a month at a minimum. However, you may elect to be a guest contributor and publish once or infrequently.
What do I need to do to start blogging?
One or two written posts. One head-and-shoulder photograph. A description of yourself for the author’s profile that appears above the post (include 3-4 short sentences about your background, career aspirations and/or reason you chose Pepperdine). Upload your submission and images using the submission form or send here.
Do I have to write? Can I post a video, photos or audio clip, instead?
Absolutely. Writing for GV can be the written word, video, music, recorded voice, PowerPoint and photographs.
For video and photo only posts, the best practice is always include a written caption or introductory sentence or two. That way Google and other search engines will properly see your post and people will find it.
How much prior experience blogging do I need?
None. You can submit a Word document for publication and the school will post for you. Writers who have experience using WordPress, or wish to learn, have the option to publish themselves.
If I already have a blog of my own, can I repost or share articles on GV?
Definitely, as long as the post compiles with University standards set for students and blog guidelines. Contact
Can I have my blog listed on GV?
Graziadio students, alumni and faculty may have a blog listed on GV. Share links, blog title and a description, and be sure to include your name, program and year of graduation if applicable.
