Bachelor of Science in Management
Lower Division Requirements for Admission
A minimum of 128 semester units is required to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Management degree. The Pepperdine BSM program provides the 60 units of upper-division coursework. The 68 lower-division semester units must be completed at a regionally accredited college or university. The unit requirements for graduation are distributed as follows:

To fulfill the 45-unit general education requirement, students must take 30 units in the areas of English composition, social science, humanities and/or fine arts, natural science, and mathematics. The remaining 15 units of general studies coursework may be taken from any of these subject areas. Four units of physical education and up to 15 units of computer science may be applied toward the requirement.
Courses taken at other colleges and universities by a student already enrolled at Pepperdine University must be approved in advance by the registrar if they are to be applied toward a degree from Pepperdine.
Specific general education requirements include the following:
- English Composition, 3 semester units
Students must complete a course in English composition with a grade of “C” or better prior to application for admission and have official transcripts filed in the Graziadio School Admission Office. - Mathematics, 3 semester units
Students may meet this requirement by taking a college-level mathematics course with a grade of “C” or better. Examples of mathematics subjects include intermediate algebra or above, geometry, trigonometry, or calculus. Students must complete this course prior to application for admission and have official transcripts filed in the Graziadio School Admission Office. - U.S. History or American Government, 3 semester units
Students must take one course in U.S. history or American government. - Social Science, 9 semester units (minimum of 3 courses)
Courses in subject areas such as economics, history, political science, psychology, or sociology fulfill this requirement. Lower-division courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics are strongly recommended as preparation for the BSM program. - Humanities and/or Fine Arts, 9 semester units (minimum of 3 courses)
Courses in subject areas such as art, music, speech, English, religion, foreign language, or history fulfill this requirement. - Natural Science, 3 semester units
A course in a subject area such as natural science, physical science, or life science fulfills this requirement. - Electives, 23 semester units
To complete the minimum of 128 units required for the bachelor's degree, students may choose elective courses from any area of study from an accredited college or university.
