Human Capital Symposium To Feature PepsiCo HR Senior VP Cynthia Trudell

Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management hosts PepsiCo’s Chief Personnel Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources Cynthia Trudell on Tuesday, November 9 at the school’s Drescher Graduate Campus in Malibu, CA. The Human Capital Symposium, starting at 6:00 p.m., will offer an extraordinary opportunity for local executives to hear from one of corporate America’s most seasoned thought leaders on talent management innovation. The program includes a best practices panel discussion featuring senior executives from Union Bank, Frito-Lay and TELACU.

Trudell will discuss PepsiCo’s systematic approach to human capital management, designed to strengthen the partnership between HR and the corporation’s businesses and drive PepsiCo’s sustainable growth. She will speak to the transition from the previous administrative role of HR to a more strategic function. Sharing their unique perspective benchmark best practices, panelists Irma Granger, Senior Vice President, HR Systems Strategy and Development, Union Bank; Steve Llewellyn, Vice President, Southern California Region Vice President,, Frito-Lay; and David Lizarraga, President and CEO, TELACU will follow Trudell’s keynote address.

Cynthia M. Trudell, 56, has been PepsiCo’s Senior Vice President, Chief Personnel Officer since February 2007. Ms. Trudell served as a director of PepsiCo from January 2000 until her appointment to her current position. She was formerly Vice President of Brunswick Corporation and President of Sea Ray Group from 2001 until 2006. From 1999 until 2001, Ms. Trudell served as General Motors’ Vice President, and Chairman and President of Saturn Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of GM. Ms. Trudell began her career with the Ford Motor Co. as a chemical process engineer. In 1981, she joined GM and held various engineering and manufacturing supervisory positions. In 1995, she became plant manager at GM’s Wilmington Assembly Center in Delaware. In 1996, she became President of IBC Vehicles in Luton, England, a joint venture between General Motors and Isuzu.
