One Week Abroad

Guest Policy

It is not advisable to bring guests to Global Business Intensive Course (one week abroad) programs. These programs are intensive in nature and little time is available to socialize with guests during the program dates.

Guest Qualifications  (If program indicates "NO GUEST ALLOWED" this policy does not apply.

 

Only one adult guest is allowed per program participant. No children may accompany a participant.

  • One guest per student participant
  • Guest must be an adult
  • Must be a pre-registered guest (the guest's name must be submitted via the online application form or directly to the Global Programs Office by the application deadline date)

Portions of the Program Open to Guests

Guests may only participate in non-academic portions of the program. Guests may NOT attend academic portions of the program (including lectures, field visits, bus rides to academic portions of the program, and lunches during academic portions of the program). Guests typically are permitted to attend the following portions of the program:

  • Accommodations (a shared room with the participant)
  • Breakfasts
  • Cultural visit or tour -such as a city tour (as applicable by program)
  • Program transit to another city (as applicable by program)
  • Opening and/or closing dinner (as approved by program host)

Guest Registration

Guests must be registered for the program via the online application form or directly with the Global Programs Office by the application deadline. It is necessary to provide the guest's name and the guest will be required to complete and submit a Release of Liability form. Only registered guests will be allowed to join the participant in program accommodations and in specified program activities.

Guest Fee

The student or alumni participant is responsible for payment of the guest fee by the program fee balance deadline. The program host does charge for guests to share accommodations and also to participate in certain parts of the program. The cost of guest participation (the guest fee) is available on the online application form.
