Professor Moshiri has been associated with both private as well as the public sector in various capacities. Owing to combination of academic training and practical experience, he has been active in providing consulting services in the area of economic development. He formulates economic development strategies intended to foster and promote economic growth in local communities. He has been involved with community redevelopment agencies in design, development, and implementation of number of developmental projects designed to attract and stimulate private capital formation, human resource development, and job creation in the Enterprise Zone areas.

In the academic realm, Professor Moshiri teaches variety of courses in economics in the MBA and BSM programs including Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Managerial Economics. His area of specialization includes International macroeconomics, international political economy, and urban and regional economic development. His research areas include international trade and international Political economy.

He is the co-author of two academic textbooks in the area of  principles of Macroeconomics and principles of Microeconomics.
