Tracey Christofferson

"Courses not only open up your mind, but also your heart."

Why did you choose the Graziadio School?
It was important to me to have a faith-based education, one with an emphasis on leadership and ethics. Pepperdine faculty believe what they say, they teach it, they walk it, and that's why I'm impressed. Courses not only open up your mind, but also your heart.

How has your Graziadio School experience helped you to succeed?
I calculated that I had a 26 percent ROI from the time I started the bachelor's completion program until I ended it. My degree gave me financial stability, but also respect from my peers and supervisors. I wouldn't have had the chance to be in my current position if it weren't for my Pepperdine degree.

After my organization leadership class, I took the tools I learned and went back to my CFO and requested a raise. He wrote me back, "Way to go, your business school is already paying off." And he became my best champion.

What was one of your most rewarding experiences at Pepperdine?
I went to Prague in 2006 as part of Pepperdine's study abroad program. I was able to study economics and law at Charles University. Our group was a mix of bachelor's degree and MBA students, and it was a very intense and amazing experience. It changes your perspective. I tell people to make the study abroad program happen, because it will pay off in spades.
