"If you have a passion to learn and to become a better person, this program is for you. There’s good reason why Pepperdine is ranked among the best worldwide."
What makes the Graziadio School unique?
The PKE program's up-close-and-personal seminar approach is incredibly valuable. You participate from day one – classes are highly interactive and take you out of your comfort zone. When you go to that area where you're uncomfortable, that's when you grow as a leader. Also, being surrounded by other professionals at my level brought a certain richness to the program. If you have a passion to learn and to become a better person, this program is for you.
How has the program helped you at work and in your career?
I was immediately drawn to the practical side of the program and I can say I definitely practice what I've learned every day. My boss has commented more than once that he sees a change in me. The changes are loud and clear – how you talk, interact, what you have to say, how you analyze – it's been transformative.
How would you describe the faculty?
All of the professors are very engaging, but they go beyond just teaching course content. They are willing to work after hours if you will and really want you to succeed. Also, our class advisor, Ed, was invaluable. He'd keep us on track, send friendly reminders that come just in time, and keep our priorities in focus. I almost couldn't believe we had that kind of support. Pepperdine's theme of values-centered leadership definitely comes through in the faculty and advisors.
