Student Spotlight
Maureen Stafford
"It really just felt like home."

Why did you choose the Graziadio School?
I chose Pepperdine…strictly for the fact that the faculty was just so welcoming and all the students, the current students that I had spoken with prior to going there, were just overly excited about the program and it really just felt like home.
What makes the Graziadio School unique?
I'm involved in one of the clubs on campus called the Values Centered Leadership Lab and it practices just that. We really focus on businesses and best practices to make sure that as managers we do things and make decisions in an ethical manner.
How has your MBA experience prepared you for success?
Coming to Pepperdine was definitely a smart business decision. I was a small business owner for about four years and just realized that there were so many different components of the business that I wasn't really versed on. To be a strong manager at least you have to know how to talk the talk when you're speaking with your accountant, how to talk the talk when you're speaking with your sales manager. And once you have the classes under your belt and you've worked in the teams and you've done the curriculum and you've read the case studies, it really helps prepare you for the real world.
