Eric P. Lane

"The program is designed to first give you the opportunity to discover who you are as an individual. I found this approach to be life changing."

Why did you choose the Graziadio School?
In my mind, the Graziadio School offers the best master's degree program in organization development. I also chose the program for its flexibility. I work full-time and have extracurricular activities, so having a program easily incorporate into my schedule was important to me.

The school encourages you to combine your academic activities with your work activities. For example, my company is going through a major merger right now that is very complex. I believe my work in the program will tie directly into my situation at work. Ultimately this will result in value for myself and to my company.

What surprised you most about the program?
I thought we'd begin the program sitting in a classroom listening to lectures. It was just the opposite. The program gives you the opportunity to discover who you are as an individual. I found this approach to be life changing. It reminded me of what I'm driving for as a working professional. It's not just about the title or money, it's about making a positive and sustainable change in the world.

How would you describe Pepperdine faculty and your interaction with them?
Each faculty member I've interacted with has filled a different need for me. Some have demonstrated a high level of academic knowledge while others have current, real-world experiences similar to my background and who I now see as mentors. Because each faculty member is different, there's a way to connect with everyone.
