"My studies at Pepperdine have made me a more strategic thinker and confident leader."
How have your studies at Pepperdine made a difference in your career?
My studies at Pepperdine have made me a more strategic thinker and confident leader. Most importantly, it has given me several opportunities to work with different individuals and explore tactics that are beneficial to create team collaboration. This is something that has been invaluable at work, since working with a cross-functional team can be challenging. It's extremely rewarding to know that I can lead a team to collaboration and get the job done.
Describe your most rewarding learning experience at Pepperdine.
I'd have to say the Education-to-Business (E2B) projects, in which we got to practice our theories. It was great being able to present our semester-long work to the client companies and have them be receptive to our ideas and even implement our recommendations.
What were your reasons for choosing Pepperdine?
There were several reasons why I chose Pepperdine:
- After attending an information session, Dr. Chun held a simulation of an MBA class and I was immediately sold. The passion really came through.
- The opportunity to practice our learnings in the E2B projects.
- The flexibility to attend different graduate campuses.
- The program length. In as little as 20 months I could receive my MBA. This seemed the most manageable of all programs, while still allowing me to carry a work/life/school balance.
What do you think makes Pepperdine different than other schools?
The professors, who are all current businessmen/women and bring their experiences to the class. The remote campus locations and variety of MBA programs also set Pepperdine apart.
What advice would you give to future students going to business school?
Make sure you're ready to make this commitment to bettering your future. It will definitely require time, but if you go into it whole-heartedly and ready to learn and grow as much as you can, it will pay off.
Who was your favorite professor or class and why?
I had a few, but the two that really stand out are Dr. G's economics class because he's so passionate about what he does and really gets you interested in learning. The other is the final strategy class with Dr. Wasilewski. He absolutely loves what he does, and it's the course that brings all your work together.
