Jason, the well-known organizer of the LA Startups Uncensored events, and founder of Docstoc, has a new project, License123, a new service that helps entrepreneurs and small businesses figure out what licenses and permits they need to operate legally. The new service seeks to help business owners avoid fines and operate legally, saving them hours and days of research time and calls. The service will also allow users to download required forms, link to online applications, and provide all of the contact information needed by businesses.
License123 is part of DocStoc. Before starting Docstoc, which provides a wide selection of documents to start, grow and manage one’s small business or professional life. e was a partner in a venture consulting firm in Los Angeles where he worked with dozens of start-ups.
Jason was the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2009 Most Admired CEO for a small business. He holds a BA from UCSB and his JD/MBA from Pepperdine University. He was the student body president of both universities.

Kimberly Wong, MBA ’11

Kimberly recently accepted a sales analyst position at GSI Commerce, a provider of e-commerce and interactive marketing services for the world’s premier brands and retailers.
Prior to her new position, Kimberly was an event intern at the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony.
She was an active member of the Pepperdine community, serving as the vice president of development for the Inter-Club Council, where she helped develop a constitution to help govern the 60+ student organizations. She was also a resident advisor and a tutor for the athletic department. continue

Tom Lombardi, MBA ’07

Tom is the recently appointed president and CEO of AirportParkingReservations.com, a decade-old online service that has booked 2,000,000 reservations across all major airports in the United States and Canada. The company is based in Santa Monica, California.
Prior to Tom’s new role, he was an an employee of West Partners, a San Diego-based private equity firm where he secured $58.6 million in equity investments.

Blake Irving, MBA ’88

Blake, who joined Yahoo! Inc. as chief product officer earlier this year and has taught in the Full-time MBA program, will be the Graziadio School’s keynote speaker at Entrepreneur’s Journey: Identifying, Seeding and Accelerating New Ventures on November 12.
The second annual all-day symposium, held by the entrepreneurship program on campus in Malibu, offers students and alumni informative panels featuring renowned speakers and experts. Sessions cover the challenges of launching new ventures in green technology, how to monetize an idea, tips on accessing investment capital, and guidance on negotiating a term sheet. The day culminates with an alumni fast-pitch competition in which attendees vote and participants compete for a chance to win a cash prize. continue

Jeff recently joined Brand Affinity Technologies (BAT) in Irvine, CA, as Director of Partner Services. BAT offers a marketing platform for targeted endorsement campaign; the technology helps advertisers decide which athlete will resonate with the targeted audience, then facilitates a licensing (endorsement) contract with unparalleled efficiency. In his role, Jeff evangelizes the endorsement offering to a variety of cross-media advertising partners, from FoxSports.com to CBS Outdoor. Prior to joining BAT, Jeff was a marketing manager with Google and co-founded the Values-Centered Leadership Lab while a full-time student at the Graziadio School. Jeff currently serves as chairman of the Graziadio Alumni Network in Orange County.

Rey was appointed chief compliance officer at YesPCI, a leading provider of an all-in-one solution for dedicated hosting, merchant processing, and payment security compliance. YesPCI is a joint venture between Colocation America Corporation, a provider of colocation services, and Total Apps, Inc., a provider of business merchant services. Ray will be coordinating the collective efforts of Colocation America, Total Apps, and ControlScan to ensure each client’s specific needs are meet. He will also oversee the development and implementation of custom security and compliance solutions for clients.
