Bill has joined the board of directors as an independent member at Clearside Biomedical, a Georgia-based company developing therapeutics to treat sight threatening diseases through a proprietary ocular microinjection platform.
Bill is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in the industry at leading companies in the specialty pharma space. It was most recently announced by the Merz Pharma Group that Bill was appointed CEO of the US holding company, Merz Inc. Prior to joining Merz, he served as the president of Stiefel, where he spearheaded multiple acquisitions, triple digit revenue growth, and led the global integration of Stiefel into GlaxoSmithKline. He also has held multiple senior executive roles within Allergan, Inc., concluding as vice president of the U.S. skincare business.
Bill holds a bachelor of arts degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Penn., as well as an MBA from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management.

Dr. Mark Tilley has been named by Fusion UV Systems as vice president for business development.

Before joining Fusion, Mark was president and CEO of Unidym, a California-based company that develops electronic applications of carbon-nanotube based inks and films.

Gunter Ziegenbalg, MBA ’04

Gunter was recently named president of SVTC Solar of SVTC Technologies, an innovation partner for accelerating nanotechnology development and commercialization. In his new role, Gunter will focus on growing the company’s global solar business as well as defining, establishing and overseeing the photovoltaic manufacturing development facility. SVTC Solar provides access to manufacturing and technology development services for the entire value chain of solar module manufacturing, qualification, test and financing.

Doug Bradley, MBA ’83

Doug is the new vice president of global marketing at Agendia, a world leader in molecular cancer diagnostics, it was recently announced. Doug will manage all strategic and tactical marketing activities.

Doug brings a wealth of leadership experience in medical and pharmaceutical product marketing at companies including Coherent Medical, Allergan and SenoRx. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing at Vertos Medical. In his eight years at Irvine-based SenoRx, Bradley led the company’s marketing activities from its infancy. In this role, Doug became intimately familiar with medical devices for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. During his time at SenoRx, they received the “Technology Fast 50″ award from Deloitte & Touch in 2006, 2007 and 2008. He holds a bachelor of science degree in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Douglas will serve as the new head of technology development and manufacturing at Altair.

Sam has accepted a position with Conceptus, Inc., developer of the Essure® procedure, a non-surgical permanent birth control method. Sam, a healthcare industry veteran, will take on the newly created position of executive vice president of marketing, effective immediately.
Sam joins Conceptus with nearly 30 years experience in global pharmaceutical and medical device marketing, including new product commercialization, consumer brand creation and management, and strategy development and implementation.
Most recently, Sam was with Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals from 2006 to 2010. For much of this time, he was director of women’s healthcare, consumer marketing, responsible for contraceptive products, among others. Medical Marketing and Media magazine recognized him as a “top six marketer” in 2009 based on the success of the launch of YAZ®. continue
