Frank has joined Vendini, a leader in cloud-based ticketing solutions, as the new vice president of sales.
Frank comes to Vendini from SiteOne Services, a cloud based construction warranty management company where he served as executive vice president for five years. During his impressive sales career, Frank has become known for increasing top line revenue growth for both start-up and Fortune 400 organizations. He has achieved notable success across multiple industries and has significant experience working with leading edge technology companies.

Gary Ferrell, MBA ’89

Gary has been appointed by NBR Worldwide, the owner of PBS’ Nightly Business Report, as executive vice president of operation and chief financial officer.
Gary will be responsible for overseeing NBR Worldwide’s daily production of, and personnel responsibilities for, Nightly Business Report, the nation’s most-watched daily business news program. Gary has worked in public television for more than 24 years. He is the former president and chief executive officer of North Texas Public Broadcasting Inc. (NTPB); the former chief financial officer of KCET public television in Los Angeles where he was responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the station; and the former chairman of the Public Television Major Market Group (PTMMG), a board consisting of the chief executives from the public television system’s largest stations. He most recently served as president of Public Media, a new media company that specializes in production, graphic design and web development.
Mr. Ferrell holds a BBA degree from Baylor University and an MBA degree from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Lynn Powers, PKE 83, MBA ’91

President and chief executive officer of the lifestyle company Gaiam Inc., Lynn received the Graziadio School’s Distinguished Alumna Award. She is a graduate of the Presidential and Key Executive MBA program and joined Gaiam in 1996 after working 14 years in high growth companies in the retail sector. Ms. Powers started her career in the executive training program at J.C. Penney and then served as senior vice president of Marketing/Strategic Development and vice president of Merchandising at Miller’s Outpost. Ms. Powers has been a director of Gaiam Inc. since February 1996. She serves as president and director of Life Balance Media LLC. She has been a director of Real Goods Solar Inc., since May 2009. Ms. Power remains very much involved in the Presidential MBA program, serving as a founding member of PKE’s Presidential MBA Advisory Council.

Kevin has been named senior vice president, Sales, Americas, for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. WBIE has restructured its sales organization to bring closer alignment to the sales and supply chain teams within the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. Kevin will lead this new sales organization.
Kevin is responsible for all sales operations in the United States, Canada and South America. In his new role, he will develop Pan-American distribution strategies for games that are integrated with WBIE’s sister organization, Warner Home Video; this includes engaging the company’s distribution partners and the ongoing management of those relationships. Kevin will dually report to Martin Tremblay and Mark Horak, President, Warner Home Video, Americas.
Kevin joined WBIE in 2007 as vice president, sales, Americas, and since then has made impressive inroads by establishing relationships, building a great team and representing the company’s interests with retail. Prior to joining Warner Bros., he was responsible for global sales at LucasArts and before that, director and head of U.S. sales and channel development at Nokia. He began his career in the videogame industry at Sega of America during the launch of Dreamcast, managing sales activities in North and South America.

Herb Daniel, MBA ‘86

Herb has been tapped by Paramount Home Entertainment to serve as its senior vice president of domestic operations. He will be responsible for supply chain operations, oversee the studio’s relationship with replicator Technicolor and represent Paramount on the DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group operations committee.
Herb most recently served as senior vice president of North America supply chain for EMI Music. He brings 25-plus years of operations experience to the studio.
Paramount Home Entertainment, a subsidiary of Viacom‘s Paramount Pictures, is responsible for the sales, marketing, and distribution of DVDs and high definition Blu-ray discs produced by Paramount and Paramount Vantage, as well as by other Viacom units such as Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, and Comedy Partners’ Comedy Central. Paramount Pictures’ library consists of more than 1,000 movies, approximately 18,000 hours of television programming, and varying rights for some 2,500 additional film titles, including lucrative franchises such as Star Trek and the Indiana Jones and Godfather trilogies.

Dave serves on the faculty at Belmont University and recently completed his doctorate in education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. He also won the John Lennon Songwriting Competition Grand Prize Country Award. His composition “Constantly Falling” is featured in the 2009 Warner Brothers film “Observe and Report” starring Seth Rogen.

Laverne has been appointed executive vice president of original programming and development for EPIX. The premium entertainment channel, video-on-demand and online service is a joint venture formed by Viacom Inc., its Paramount Pictures unit, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. and Lionsgate. Previously, she served as president and CEO of Shibui Entertainment and oversaw development of all television and live stage properties for Mike Newell’s production company 50 Cannon, where she served as President. Laverne worked for ten years at CBS Entertainment, most recently as senior vice president of drama development. Earlier, she had served as director of current programs and director of children’s programs for CBS Entertainment.

Steve, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Disney/ABC Television Group, and Graziadio School board member, was presented with the Distinguished Executive Alumnus Award by his undergraduate alma mater Utah State. The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business bestowed its highest honor at a banquet in his honor. A Utah native, Steve was praised for having a “wonderful moral compass that has never failed him,” said Douglas D. Anderson, dean of the USU business school.

Michelle was promoted to senior vice president of Business/Legal Affairs, Distribution for Starz Entertainment. She was most recently vice president of Business and Legal Affairs, Distribution, a position which she was promoted to in April 2008. Michelle acts as the lead attorney for all new media and technology matters for the Starz Entertainment pay television business and Starz Media.
