Paula Jorge Guglielmino, MBA '01, Launched New Children's CD Company
June 2007 -- Paula Jorge Guglielmino, MBA ‘01, recently launched Professor Pocket™, a company that produces a line of bilingual musical CDs designed to entertain children and expose them to Spanish. Created by a multicultural family with their own children in mind, the professionally produced CD, Professor Pocket’s Our Silly Farm Adventure, contains original music, lyrics and dialogue.
Dissatisfied with the availability of high quality, bilingual products for their own families, Ms. Guglielmino and her sister-in-law, Nathalie Jorge, set out to do it better. After two years of research, Professor Pocket’s™ first CD, Our Silly Farm Adventure, was released on February 20, 2007.
“This is a fun, new way to entertain your children while introducing them to another language. In an increasingly global environment, it is essential that our children become multilingual. Research shows that the earlier you expose your child to a foreign language, the more likely they are to absorb it.” said Ms. Guglielmino, co-founder of Professor Pocket™.
In Professor Pocket’s Our Silly Farm Adventure, the lovable, sometimes silly characters take kids on a magical adventure to a farm where horses fly and pigs drive tractors. Professor Pocket and her friends, Desi the Dinosaur and Chico the Chicken, engage children in song and encourage them to sing along in Spanish.
The interactive Web site, www.professorpocket.com, also has all the English lyrics to the songs as well as fun activities for children.
