Biography

In addition to his formal academic training, Prof. Nickles had extensive experience in and out of the classroom over the last several years. He had experience as a professor, author, business consultant, stock market speculator and consultant, board member, and business executive. Dr. Nickles consulted and served as a board member to several public and private organizations. Including: The China Economy Consultancy Co. in the People's Republic of China, board member of The China American Technology Investment Group, vice president and board member of The American-China Association for Science and Technology Exchange, and advisory board member for Irwin/ Duskin Press. He is a consultant to several corporations such as Volkswagen of North America, 3M Corporation and Loctite Corporation. And he was former financial columnist for The Orange County Business Journal and Business To Business.

He wass the author of an economics text and more than 35 articles and wass a frequent presenter and discussant of professional papers at national and international academic associations. Some of of publications are included in The American Economic Association and The Western Economic Association, as well as a member of The American Association of University Professors, The World Future Society, and The World Affairs Council. He is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, and listed in Who's Who in Business and Higher Education. Prof. Nickles was a former chairman and a resource consultant to The Executive Committee (TEC), an international CEO business problem solving group. Dr. Nickles was also the president of an investment consulting firm (which manages corporate, union, and individual investment portfolios). He served as the vice president of CEC International, and was the former publisher of a national award winning stock market newsletter. He was quoted on television and in several newspapers including the Los Angles Times, Orange County Register, Barrons, Santa Barbara Times, Focus on Business, Orange County Business Journal, and Business to Business Magazine, and was a frequent guest on KNX 1070 radio KTLA Channel 5, and Fox Television.

In addition, Prof. Nickles was recently appointed to the Western Association of Schools and Colleges' accrediting team as a reviewer and consultant. He was the founder and CEO of China World Network Corporation, an international business information and consulting firm. Prof. Nickles was the first western professor to address the national conference of the State Bureau of Statistics in Beijing, China in 1995 and 1997. Dr. Nickles was a senior consulting professor to a group of Russia scientists and executives that recently visited the United States. He also spoke to several academic, political, and business group affiants across Europe and Asia.

Dr. Nickles was hired by Pepperdine as a faculty member at the age of 23 and has been instrumental in the development of Graziadio Business School. He has served as chair of the MBA and Executive MBA committees as well as chair and member of several other steering and academic committees. Professor Nickles was also a recipient of The Pepperdine University Howard A. White Award for Teaching Excellence.
